How to Prepare for University

If you have taken the route of going university, it can be quite daunting to start. The grey skyscraper buildings, the not so familiar faces and not knowing what to expect can make us feel a little overwhelmed. There are a few things you can do to prepare yourself for the year ahead. Regardless if you're starting or progressing to the next year, these tips could be used to help anyone who's going through university.

#1 Organisation is key- I can't tell you how important it is to stay as organised as you possibly can. In college you can kind of get away with not bringing your pen or book, but in university for the love of life please at least bring a pen. If you always keep them in your bag, you can never be pen-less and not having one in uni probably makes you look unorganised to your teachers. Highlighters, coloured pens and a lot of paper may come in handy too.

#2 Keep on top of your work- This is another important factor in not only helping you trough uni but also helping you pass as well. You don't want to be the kid who when the teacher asks you for your tutorial questions, not only do you not have them but you're a couple of weeks in past. We've all been there at some point, unless you're like bang on top of it! Even if your studies are behind, try to catch up as much as you can but make sure the tutorial questions  are done on time because the asked us every time.

#3 Sign up to a society- Sign up to every society that interests you. You can meet some new faces, learn something not necessarily uni related and if it's a society you enjoy then it might be a enjoyable place to chill out. You could maybe even start your own? My university funds up to a certain amount so you could give it a go if it interests you. You never know, you could meet some horse riding buddies to discuss how great they are, or just ride them haha.

#4 Revise- This isn't college anymore where you can pick up the book half way through the year for the first time. Oh no no, but that doesn't mean that you won't be able to handle the workload, just make some time for it and get some revision in nice n' early and you should be okay.

#5 Enjoy yourself- Most importantly just enjoy yourself. It's not going to be enjoyable if you don't find it at least somewhat pleasant. Of course we're not going to be parading ourselves through the corridors with a big goofy smile on our faces. It's not that exciting let's be honest but you make it what you make of it so just keep that in mind and good luck with your studies.

I hope this information help you. What are your tips for starting University?
