Things You Can Do To Change Up Your Bedroom

You may spend a lot of time in your bedroom, but even you don't we want to make it as cosy and aesthetically pleasing as possible. Sometimes we get bored of the same layout or we're hesitate to take the dive to change it up  (like i was!) There are various ways in which you can make your room have a different look or feel to it, or give it a different vibe for a change of scenary.

You could get a new rug- Getting a lovely soft new rug to put your feet on when you wake up could add a new dimension to your room. Various rugs sit nicely in different rooms, so you can see what would look best on the floor space. If you don't want to get a new rug for now you could just fluff up the one you already have to get it back to looking fresh just as you bought it. If there are any discolourations, a good scrub can brighten it up as well, or if vacuuming is enough then you're all good.

Spring clean- Spring may not be here yet, but it doesn't mean we can't have a fresh spring clean to get rid of any dust gathering and collecting where it shouldn't. I spray some dust cleaning stuff onto all the furniture and wipe away with a cloth. I try to get the sides and even under the bed and places where dust can fall because afterwards when I walk into the room I just get this feeling of lightness and freshness. Then you can congratulate yourself for your efforts with a nice creamy cuppa and cookies to accompany it.

Get rid of clutter- Clutter is like a foggy brain, not allowing you to focus. I made a clearout of all the things that I had been keeping that I literally never use and that's taking space and it kind of lifted my room a little. Like, it kind of felt lighter, or maybe I did because of all the stuff I was holding onto that I didn't need. I separated items into items too keep and things that are just taking up space like old train tickets, which I do get people keep for special days out or something but a whole bunch of tickets from last years travels to Uni, I don't think is worth holding onto.

Candles, accessories- Once I get a bit used to the layout of accessories in my room I like to change them around and put them in different places. At first, every item had it's place that kind of moulded into the furniture. Once when I was doing a big clear out, the night was drawing in and things were everywhere. Tust wanting to get it done, I just put things neatly but just anywhere and I was wanted to get it done. After I had finished I actually quite liked the change of accessories, I don't know why I keep calling them that, uhh, things? Just general things you'd find in a bedroom, haha. So, a good change up can really add a different view to the room and make it feel a bit uplifted and I was glad I did it.

Feng shui- If you've never heard of the chinese notion of feng shui, what it generally involves is that the position of things in your room can create positive or negative energy which helps to make you feel more rested and gives you a good energy throughout. I'm not actually sure if this is true, but I subconsciously try to stick to a few things, just incase, you know, bring on the positive energy.

New bedding/cushions- Accompanying a fresh new clear out, I always make sure I do it on 'fresh amazing smelling new sheets day' so that everything is just squeaky clean and I feel like have the best sleep ever. Sometimes I change the cushions covers like from velvet cushion covers to fluffy ones just to add something new to my bed. I recently got a new blanket for my bed and it's made my room have a different vibe to it whilst also giving me something fluffy to snuggle up in this breezy winter.

These are a few things you can do to change up your room a little bit. Is there anything that you do to change it up?
